The group is called the Pink Panthers; no, not the super sleuth actor Peter Sellers from the “Pink Panther” movies. These Pink Panthers are a diverse cartel of jewelry thieves from 16 countries including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Montenegro and Serbia. According to authorities, these thieves have stolen more than $130 million worth of jewelry from Paris, Monaco, Geneva, Dubai and Tokyo. British investigators came up with the moniker after one suspect hid a $657, 000 blue diamond in a jar of cream, which is an exact scenario in one of the “Pink Panther” movies.

Every teenage girl dreams of her first prom. She imagines who her date will be, what she will wear and how she will look. Every mother knows that everything including the dress, the shoes, the jewelry and the hair have to be perfect. The prom may only be one night, but the memories and the pictures will last a lifetime. According to the National Retail Federation, Americans spent an estimated $4 billion on prom in 2007. Those type of figures typically excite retailers, but due to the economic recession, many aren’t expecting those kinds of numbers this year but it doesn’t mean that young girls are forgoing the big event. In fact, many American women of all ages are becoming what industry insiders are calling “recessionistas”, meaning they are learning how to shop for what they want at the best prices. Joolwe.com understands that in these harsh economic times money can be tight for some; but we also know how important the prom is to budding young adults. Celebrities are everywhere. We see pictures of them on the television, on the internet and in magazines. Even radio personalities talk about how they look, what they are doing and, more importantly what they are wearing. These movie stars and musicians have the money and the access to the best of everything in the world of fashion, jewelry and high-end living. Most of the pictures of celebrities feature them dressed and accessorized to the nines, thanks to their well-paid stylists. In the real world, most people admire their style but don’t have the money or the access to their higher- end fashion or jewelry; but that doesn’t mean you can’t emulate your favorite star’s signature style. If you see a piece of jewelry on a celebrity, chances are other companies have made similar pieces at affordable prices. Knowing where to look and how to shop for your favorite accessories is a skill every woman should master. To help you get started, we have picked out a few A-list celebs wearing beautiful jewelry and offered and less expensive yet equally stunning alternative.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I am sure that you are still thinking of what to get for that special woman in your life. We celebrate mothers because, throughout their life, they do more for us than any other woman will. However this holiday, that we celebrate every second Sunday in May, is not just about celebrating her as a mother but it is also a day to honor who she is as a unique individual. Many mothers, especially the ones with young children, do not get a lot of time to pamper themselves or get dressed up. Many do not have the time or maybe the extra money to purchase something that is just for themselves because they always put their children first. Take the time to really think about who your mother is and what represents her as a woman. Jewelry is always an excellent Mother’s Day gift because it is so expressive. People wear jewelry as a form of expression, it enables us to show the world who we are. There are a plethora of styles, gemstones and looks to choose from; so it is very easy to pick out the perfect gift. Gone are the days when you only had jewelry that had the words “Mom” or “Mother” emblazoned on it. Now, you can give her whatever her heart desires.
