Have you ever looked at a picture of a piece of jewelry online and thought “this is absolutely gorgeous”, ordered it and then wished you had never even visited the site in the first place? It’s happened to all of us. We get deceived into purchasing an item based on an absurdly photoshoped picture that, if you had paid close attention to it, looked more like a cartoon drawing. It’s no different than the pictures of extremely photoshopped celebrities in magazines that look nothing like the pictures taken of them on the street by paparazzi. These photos are designed to sell an illusion. The difference is you are not paying money to look pictures of celebrities but you are spending your hard earned money on the piece of jewelry you’ve just purchased.

The Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas has become a hot spot for eager diamond hunters hoping to find a little buried treasure. Each year, nearly 200,000 people flock to the 800-acre park with their diamond hunting equipment, $7 for admission and big dreams. Every individual has their own method for finding a diamond. Some come prepared with a seruca, which is a screen designed to separate the diamonds from debris. Others get on their hands and knees in hopes of getting lucky. In 2007, visitors pulled over 1,000 diamonds from the ground. The Crater of Diamonds State Park’s philosophy is that anyone who visits may leave the park with a diamond, and some say, that also leaves room for some bad behavior.

Anyone who has or knows a teenage girl is always aware that they think they are the ruling authority on what is hot and what is not. They tend to follow the trends and want to emulate them. When buying a piece of jewelry for a teenage girl it is best to purchase a piece of fashion jewelry. Fashion jewelry is considered the “must have” pieces of the moment. Their designs are trendy, typically ornate and colorful.
Buying fashion jewelry is great way to show off how fashion savvy you are without spending a lot of money. Remember, you are buying this for a teenage girl. She may wear it every day for a year and then never wear it again. Before you make your purchase, think about her personal style. Is she into the bohemian look? Is she a hopeless romantic? Is she always on the cutting edge of fashion? Knowing the answers to these questions can make shopping for a teenager a fun experience instead of a big headache.

Garnet
The garnet is the official birthstone for the month of January as named by the American National Association of Jewelers in 1912. It can also be given as a milestone gem on the second and sixth anniversaries. These scintillating gemstones come in a gorgeous array of colors including orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black and colorless; but the sultry, red garnet is by far the most popular. The most common forms of granite are almandine, spessartine, grossular, andradite and pyrope. The rarest type of garnet is blue. The most recent discovery of this rare gem was found in Madagascar in the late 1990’s. Garnets usually rate a 6.5 to 7.5 in hardness according to the Moh’s scale. They are typically found in Latin America, some parts of Europe, Africa, Asia and India.

We’ve all been hearing and talking about the recession, job losses and the state of the retail sector. So many people are on a tight budget and do not want to spend a lot on accessories. When it comes to jewelry, there is no denying that all women love diamonds. You’ve heard the saying “diamonds are a girl’s best friend”. The problem is that not many women can afford them. The solution to that is simple: fake it. How? Cubic Zirconia. Some women may feel uneasy when buying cubic zirconia. That’s because they don’t know enough about them.

Elle Sterling Silver Pyramid Post Earring
Geometric patterns are going to be huge this year. They emerged in jewelry designs in 2008, but this year you will see more designers incorporating them into their pieces. Wearing a geometric-themed piece of jewelry shows the world that you are not afraid to experiment with your style. The trick is knowing how to wear them.
Geometric pieces are always bold. So, they can be worn with any color but you should always avoid pairing them with busy patterns. Pairing busy patterns with geometric jewelry is a fashion disaster. If you are just starting to try out this look, start with small studs that feature a geometric shape.
