Every woman has dreamed of that special day when her knight in shining armor professes his love for her while presenting her with a gorgeous diamond ring. In today’s world, that shining diamond ring is just a fantasy for many young couples. Many have been hit by our struggling economy and luxury items, like diamonds, are too expensive to buy. As a writer for an online jewelry store, I have noticed a growing trend…people are purchasing cubic zirconia rings as an alternative to diamonds.

Joolwe.com 10k White Gold and Princess-Cut Cubic Zirconia Double Band Rings
I know some of you that are reading this are gasping at the thought of wearing anything other than a diamond on that special finger. However, I challenge anyone to test of trying to tell a real high-quality diamond from a real high-quality cubic zirconia. Many jewelry stores are selling 10K and 14K white and yellow gold bands with titillating cubic zirconia gemstones that add exquisite luster to a myriad of beautiful settings.
Cubic zirconia is the professional term for simulated diamonds also called synthetic diamonds. Most of us have been taught to be afraid of terms such as simulated or synthetic…but the fact that they are manmade is actually an advantage. Because cubic zirconia is grown in a controlled environment, unlike diamonds; they are free from any visible inclusions or dirt trapped inside the stone. This gives these luxurious gemstones an added edge of being able to attain high clarity and color markings. It is almost impossible to find a lackluster cubic zirconia.
Consider the price versus quality ratio when buying a diamond or cubic zirconia engagement ring. For anyone on a budget, the chance of purchasing a quality diamond is not very high. An inexpensive diamond will be cloudy with inclusions. However, an inexpensive cubic zirconia will still exude an intense sparkle that casts a striking allure over the ring’s motif.
Remember, being on a fixed income doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice owning an exquisite symbol of your love for the sake of owning a real diamond. There’s nothing wrong with choosing a gorgeous cubic zirconia over a diamond engagement ring whose beauty and shimmer have the power to stand the test of time without breaking the bank.

Spring Greetings by Parvin
At no time are the elements of nature more expressive in their powers than during the change of seasons. The once bare branches of winter are now blooming with flowers and signify the onset of spring. This season many designers are focusing on organic themes that are set amongst ethereal backdrops. Spring runway shows gave fashion aficionados insight into the designers apparel but also on using jewelry as an integral part of the designer’s intended look to convey a specific theme. As you enter spring, allow the word “enrapture” to linger in your thoughts whenever you’re selecting jewelry to add to your ensemble.

Date Jewelry by fashionfightingpovertydc
As many women know getting ready for a date can be an exhilarating and sometimes nail-biting experience. You find yourself constantly asking yourself a million questions like, “What should I wear?” , “What image do I want to project?”, “Do I look sophisticated?” and ”Is this too much?” Wouldn’t it be great if we all had a personal stylist to tell us what works and what doesn’t on any given occasion? Well, we all don’t have that luxury. However, there are some simple rules that you can follow that will have you looking sophisticated and sleek no matter what the occasion.
An Afternoon Lunch Date….
So, you the man of your dreams has asked you out for a lunch date. Your date will clearly be a little more casual because it is during the day but that doesn’t mean that you can’t add a little flair to your look with some gorgeous jewelry. First, think about the image that you would like to portray. Do you want to project a fun yet flirty look? Maybe you would like to channel Audrey Hepburn’s infamous sophistication. Tiny colored gemstones are an alluring contrast to soft knits and cashmere cardigans. The kaleidoscope of shimmering colors shows your zest for life. Throw on a gorgeous pair of pearl earrings or a pearl necklace to exude a timelessly beautiful look. Pair a sculpted ring with a casual ensemble to show off your well-manicured fingers. The great thing about classic accessories like these is that they can take your look from day to night with ease.

A Dinner Date….
Little black dress…check. Gorgeous pair of stilettos..check. Now, what type of jewelry are you going to wear? Even though it is a good idea to think about what image you want to project; remember, you can never go wrong with a sexy yet sophisticated look. A beautiful drop necklace elongates the neck and draws attention to your collarbone. Try an exquisite pair of chandelier earrings to frame your face in a shimmering allure that is destined to get attention. Don’t forget about your hands. A statement cocktail ring is a great way to add over-the-top style to your ensemble without having to sacrifice style. A great fashion tip is to remember not to wear them all at once. Each one of these jewelry pieces are bold enough to be paired with minimal jewelry.

I’ll Have a Cosmopolitan Please…..
Going out for cocktails is a great excuse to wear fun yet flirty jewelry and show off your brassier side. Consider taking some fashion risks and incorporate intriguing gemstones such as blue goldstone or red jade into your jewelry palette. I’m sure you’ve noticed that statement necklaces are still making a huge impact in the fashion world. Try and find eclectic pieces that flaunt various textures, large gemstones and over-sized shapes. If you plan on going dancing afterwards, think about stacking some metallic bangles on your wrists to add even more movement to your look. It’s okay to be trendy on these occasions….feel free to experiment with different looks…and ultimately, have a good time while doing it.

When it comes to fashion and accessorizing, the most important thing is to remember to be true to who you are. Although experimenting with different looks can help your style evolve, you should always make sure that “you are wearing the jewelry and not letting the jewelry wear you.”

Classic Fashion Icon Coco Chanel by teadrinker
Fashion trends come and go. We all have those trendy jewelry pieces that were scorching hot last year and now…well…let’s just say they are ice cold. Trendy jewelry allows the masses to emulate style that are worn by the trendsetters of society: actresses, musicians and socialites. High end designers debut these pieces on the runway, then in their stores and soon the rest of the world is wearing a less-expensive version of the original. These look great when they are in vogue, but can be embarrassing when they have lost their luster. Remember when “Sex and the City” was popular and everyone was wearing their version of the “Carrie” necklace. You probably have one that is conveniently tucked away at the bottom of your jewelry box. It’s great to be on trend, but there are some accessories that are so flexible they will look great with a good portion of your wardrobe and will never go out of style.
